Dear Constituent,

Thank you for contacting me to share your views on H.R. 1866, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

On April 2, 2009, Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced H.R. 1866. This measure would exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act. Currently, H.R. 1866 is pending in the House Judiciary Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Should Congress debate this bill in the coming weeks, please know I will keep your views in mind.

Again, thank you for getting in touch with me. With kind regards, I am

Very truly yours,

Ike Skelton
