Dear Constituent,

Thank you for contacting our office regarding the Industrial Hemp Farming Act. We appreciate hearing from you.

As you may know, this legislation (H.R. 1866) would amend the Controlled Substances Act to exclude hemp from the definition of marijuana. In addition, the bill would require the federal government to respect state laws that allow the growth of industrial hemp. H.R. 1866 has been referred to the House Committees on Energy and Commerce and Judiciary for consideration. We have noted your support should the measure be considered on the House floor in the coming months.

As always, we appreciate hearing from you. If our office may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

HOWARD COBLE
Member of Congress
