Industrial hemp is important to the future of farming in the U.S. and will lead to sustainable products and provide an important food source for our nation. In order to get American farmers growing hemp commercially once again, we need to remove it from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) via the Hemp Farming Act of 2018. Only when industrial hemp is removed from the CSA will our U.S. agriculture and associated processing, manufacturing, distribution and retail industries have an opportunity to develop infrastructure for this valuable crop.
Your support for the Hemp Farming Act is critical to demonstrate support to Congress to removing hemp from the CSA. Please sign this petition today, and also please share this petition with others.
To Congress:
I support the Industrial Hemp Farming Act S. 2667 to remove industrial hemp from the Controlled Substance Act. It is time to restore hemp as an agricultural commodity in the United States. Hundreds of millions worth of hemp products are sold in the U.S., and American farmers are losing out on the economic benefit. It’s time for this senseless prohibition of hemp to end.
