Dear Constituent,

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for H.R. 1831, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011, which was introduced by Congressman Ron Paul on May 11, 2011.

H.R. 1831 amends the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marijuana. The bill has been jointly referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and to the Committee on the Judiciary. I will be sure to continue to monitor the progress of the bill.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again on this or any other matter of importance to you.

Sincerely,

Mazie K. Hirono
Member of Congress
