Dear Constituent,

Thank you for taking time to express your support for the Industrial Hemp Farming Act (H.R. 1866).

As you may know, hemp was improperly lumped into the 1937 ban on marijuana after having been grown commercially for centuries by American farmers, including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Having carried similar legislation in the California State Senate, I co-sponsored this bill to remove Federal restrictions from growing this safe and profitable crop. Thanks again for contacting me. Please don't hesitate to do so again in the future.

Sincerely,
Tom
