Vote Hemp depends entirely on contributions, bequests, in-kind donations from supporters like you to do our work. Your contributions have recently helped us to:

• defend against ridiculous DEA regulations which would have outlawed healthy hemp foods,

• work with state legislators from states like Maine, North Dakota and Vermont to help draft and enact pro-hemp legislation,

• lobby Congress and educate members about the environmental and economic benefits of industrial hemp, winning the support of 25 members of Congress who wrote the DEA to oppose the hemp food ban, and those who have signed on to the recent federal Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2009 (HR 1866), and

• generate millions of dollars worth of publicity and awareness for hemp and the hemp industry.

We hope that American farmers will be able to take advantage of this explosive market growth soon. Now Vote Hemp is focusing much of its effort on getting the hemp farming bill, HR 1866, passed in Congress. We are working with states to put pressure on the federal government to take positive action on this issue. Each day the U.S. falls behind Canada, the European Union, China and almost thirty other countries in research and development.
