New Mexico Hemp Resolution Passes House & Senate!
Please Write & Call Your Representative In DC

Longworth House Office Building

July 23, 2009

Washington, DC — The new 111th Congress is now in session we need Congressmen Martin Heinrich, who represents the 1st District of New Mexico, Harry Teague, who represents the 2nd District, and Ben Lujan, who represents the 3rd District, to become co-sponsors for HR 1866, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2009, which will allow farmers in New Mexico and the rest of U.S. to once again have the opportunity to grow this valuable agricultural crop.

In this session a pair of memorials stating that Congress be requested to acknowledge the difference between marijuana and industrial hemp and to clearly legalize the commercial production of industrial hemp, HM 47 and SM 30, were adopted by the New Mexico House and Senate.

The memorials also requested the New Mexico Department of Agriculture to investigate the feasibility of state incentives for commercialization.
