Did you know that America's history is rooted in growing hemp? It was Thomas Jefferson who once said, "Hemp is of greatest importance to our nation". Today, healthy and sustainable hemp products are sold across the country, but American farmers are prohibited from growing industrial hemp as a crop.
We want to create new hemp history in this country - history that includes economic opportunity for American farmers who want to grow hemp. We also want you to be able to benefit from eco-friendly and nutritious hemp products. That's why we're proud to announce Hemp History Week 2011, a week-long celebration of the benefits of hemp health and sustainability, May 2nd-8th, 2011.Hemp History Week
is a national grassroots education campaign designed to renew strong support for hemp farming in the U.S. This year, health advocates such as physician Dr. Andrew Weil, actress and author Alicia Silverstone and TV personality and consumer advocate Phil Lempert will join with leading hemp products companies, natural foods retailers and passionate volunteers to advocate for U.S. farmers who wish to grow industrial hemp.Get involved

Last year, hundreds of volunteers organized two hundred events in thirty-two states and generated tens of thousands of letters and postcards to the President and Attorney General. Not bad for the campaign's inaugural year. With your help, we can do even more in 2011. Let's add a bright new chapter to America's hemp history. Please get involved
